Inscription on Warwic Castle Gate by Garrick

When Neville the stout Earl of Warwic liv'd here

Whole Oxen for breakfast ware slain

And his friends were incited to sport & good cheer

   and welcom'd again and again.

It's nerves were so weak and his spirits so low

this Lord with no oxen does feed 'em

And all of the former great doings we know,

He gives us a book, & we read 'em

Parody on Popes Character of Ld Cobham

And you my Cobham to your latest breath Shall plague the world, man, woman, child to death; Suck in that moment, as all in the past The Devil D_m ye all, shall be your last

On Bp. [Bishop] Walters obliging his neighbour to remorse Ye old sign of Blaze & put up the Golden Fleece

Two of a trade can n'er agree No proverb e'er was juster; There Bishop Blaze pull'd down we see To set up Bishop Bluster
