Monday July 15 1861. It is warm this morning looks like rain. I went into a Neighbor Mrs..[unclear] Peck to see if we could rent her house for Mr. A.D. Grant. I then went to the office. it rained just after I got home. Mrs.unclear initial unclear initial Walker came to see me after Tea. Mr & Mrs. W. K. Brown called to see us--it rained in the evening. Tuesday July 16 1861 Wrote two letters this morning for my servants to send to their relations in Louisville. Our Piano has just arrived. children all well. we have a case of diptheria next door to us. it is quite warm today. I have not gone out to day.
