DUNCAN Commanding Officer Fort Duncan, Texas

Sir:

              Your letter of 15th inst. is received, I am instructed by General Augur to say, that he approves your determination, should either "party cross to this side", to arrest, disarm and hold them until instructions are received from Department Headquarters.
              You are directed also to make such use of the force under your command as may be necessary to accomplish these results.
              Your action in reference to the Commercial Agent is approved.
