I am directed by the President to say reports from New Orleans that unknown will be out to-night and an attack made upon Packard parts to- morrow. The rumor may be idle but every precaution should be unknown to preserve peace. Should then be no communication with you to-morrow the greatest apprehension will be felt here Report will be by telegraph.
