Osawatomie, June 8 1889 Dear Sisters,

John is going to a funeral today so I just drop you a line lest - it - be several days before he goes again, He was able to go by the ford yesterday and today he and Shafer are going that way in the wagon. It is so much nearer than the other way that it will make it easier for John. He churned twice yesterday besides going to town horseback. It rained a little in the night, same this a.m. I? & Mary and Shafer staying home. German is going to an all day meeting in the Quaker church, about 5 miles the other way from town, towards Lane. Such a meeting
