Dear General

         I am brief but esteemed favor of the 9th instant was resently recd inclosing Chandlers letter to you.  But being constantly on the march my mail is slow in catching me, and I am crowed for time [underline] to reply promptly. [underline]
    But first, I am truly glad to hear from You [underline], and hope to do so often [underline] in the future.  Relative to the Yicaville matter I am without instructions or Authority in the case, But, have never yet lost sight of them, [underline] or their interests.
