feeling against another way of thinking. Well, I know that who leads America is not a dove, but what about the people just you and me? why shouldn't they have an independent and free thought? This is just a rethoric [sic] question, sorry, I know.

I would like to know how you could manage to survive with the ideas you have in a country so beautiful but

so terrible with (toward) its people. I would like to know the difficulties you had, during your life, especially during the fifties after that great period of hope which was the New Deal, or better the Thirties with everything and everybody in movement. But overall I would like to know how you felt and what you thought during the period when you were writing The Disinherited - and what you think of it now. Sorry if I ask too much but I want to understand to the last comma.
