Heath, Mass. 01346 2 sep 85 Labor Day Dear Jack,

your WEED KING collection is a triumph. Please accept my congrats, and know what pleasure, what

vindication, you've brought to this worker emeritus.

The title story is excellent, a classic, but my very favorite is 'The Fields of Golden Glow', a family classic;

your mother lives in its pages, and so does the Place, the Moberly, the Monkey Nest landscape of other years. Of course I liked 'Charlie..,' related to the Shummn and Mink of my farm days; and 'Bun Grady' is a classic which Gorki must have loved when he read it in the American section of Moscow Library! Well, Jack, I liked your real collection very much, and will see to it that local bookstores and libraries latch onto t. Wixson sure did his part, too.
