appear to have changed their range, probably on account of being hunted & dry season having no water course up to noon E S.E - With a moderately open country, traversing Lomas we did not strike the river until 2 hours after Sunset. having travelled 18 to 20 miles S.E. got to river & what with brush, steepness & bagging, could not water horses, We 3 unclear words then took to our pallets thankful in having found water - all the country travelled over today had no water - fine pastures & woodlands - Saw a Smoke rise up ? about S.S.E. ? - From ? our hunter stopped short looked greener than usual - D-m ?
