Middle Slough, which was narrow deep & rased but gradually wenahed in depth passed 8 small rafts no one exceeding 50 yds in length Shagh supp to contain a column equal to ? of the reve made say 40 miles. Friday 12th. passed 4 small rafts slgh of river in left at 10 miles & another a right at 15 miles both or each of these supposed to contain a greater volume of water than the one we are packing? Bluff just below last slough on right bank passed Bois D'Arc 10 miles below on left, open but crooked river? low ground & subject to inundation ^ on both sides. Camped on low Bluff at 50 miles on right bank -
