Dear Mary July 10th [1913]

Your letter answering the [?] was enclosed yesterday. Well I am glad. I seldom say that under such circumstances

but I am sure it will be all right & if it is not you will both have sense enough to stop it. Lem is a fine fellow & I am sure he appreciates you Give him my love & best wishes

Did you get two recent letters sent you to Endfield by me. If not I want you to get them. they were sent to Gen Debring. I long for California again & shall come this fall. Are you [?soon?] coming this way again or dont you know
Mary dont settle down as the conventional married lady - but write write. You can do it so well & how it is needed. I often see Prof Foster & many of your other friends & we always talk of you. Yesterday I had lunch with Kenneth Harris & he told me how much he liked you. I thought you were old friends but he said he had seen you but once. Well I will write you occasionally & shall always be glad to hear from you
Love to you both Clarence Darrow
