that they could hardly extend charity to the Jurors & magistrates that aquited them. And indeed God has since by his miediate hand given testimony against some persons that were violent in it to have had them put to death as I could instance in particulers, but shall endevor to avoyd all personal reflictions; But (recondam in corde meo) I wil lay up these things on my heart. Although I mention that story of this matter in this place yet it was towards the latter end of September, before these indians were tryed & acuitted, all which time they remained in prison under great sufferings, In truth as the proverbe is every stone was turned by their enimy to bring them to destruction. But some were more considerate & serious & pyous had their hearts exercised with tremblings in prair all this time Least the wind of temptation might blow so hard as to drive the judges & Jurrors uppon the Rock of bringing inocent blood upon the Land which Blessed bee God was prevented in this matter.
