it was not all a failure. La[st] night it came off. We had a full house ahthough it was snowing and rather unplea[sant] to be out. About $64 was ?? One of the ladies ?? a bridal silk dress. fifty years old with only two breadths and a goer in the skirt and only about five inches of waist. There were three silk bridal dresses in all. And then the head dresses and bonnets were quite as ridiculus as those of the prese[nt] day. The hair was not combed with the huge puffs in front of modern style but it had the waterfall reversed &c.
