It is supposed, or feared that certain uncleanness maybe contracted during the night, while asleep, either f? witches or some other unknown cause; therefore most religious persons follow the following ceremony morning for their purification. On awakening sometime before day, they turned onto their fours?, and sung the following verse four

times { Ni na tu hu yi, Ku lu lo ti, Ha tlo so gu ti. They then devoted some time to meditation, and then sung the same verse again; and so on till day break. They then arose - went to a river or creek, and standing on the bank, sung the same verse again. They then plunged into the stream and continued under water as long as they could hold their breath. They then arose, and again plunged in as before, and thus seven times, and then supposed themselves cleansed from all the impurities of the night. citation: Nutsawi

At night, or lying down to sleep they sung, or repeated the following prayer, viz.  Sagohine, Kululatiyu..lu loi,  kayeweoti, agutanuta, -
