Wed, June 29 1898 hot. a.m. cultivate at hill lot. Allen has 3 men & 2 teams excavating for the barn. Eli cultivating at wood lot w. Geo. he stayed to dinner at Geo.'s. p.m. Geo. mowing at wood lot orchard. Eli mow w scythe. I sang at funeral of Henry Ingersoll's baby. then worked garden. John to Wellington on wheel. Eve. took flowers for Cleveland hospital. Thurs. 20. a.m. Ike & I to hill lot cultiv. potatoes plant beans, sweet corn & cucumbers, hoe beets. Eli to wood lot w. Geo. mow w scythe. p.m. John Eli Ike & I wood lot. Geo. finish mowing among trees. mow with scythe rake & cock that wh. was mowed first. Terribly hot. Eve. called on Brown & Tite. Friday July 1. 1898 very hot a.m. hoe garden till 9 then all to wood lot mow, cock & turn & bring home load stove wood. p.m. rake & cock rest of hay. then to hill lot. cut a little wheat & dug a few potatoes near barn. Sat 2 [in margin] hot hauled the hay in woodlot orchard & sta cked it. Then all but John to hill lot hoe potatoes last part of p.m. Jo home in Eve. Marion treated us all to ice cream at lawn fete
