Mr. JackConroy Chicago, Illinois Dear Mr. Conroy, It was kind of you to write the letter in which you mentioned the Nemoscope article. I was asked to write a series of articles about north-east Missouri writers. I mentioned Nelson of La Plata, Mrs. McLorn (Olive Gilbreath) La Plata, Mrs. Gasparotti, Moberly; Mary Margaret McBride of Paris; Mr. Blanton of Paris; Miss Minnie Brashear of Kirkville; Rupert Hughes, of Lancaster; Glen Frank of Greentop etc.

Mr. Conroy, your writing of children's books interest me very much. I teach courses in children's literature here at K.S.T.C., taught one summer in Missouri University and taught courses in that subject two different summers in California State College at San Jose.

I have two manuscripts which you might be interested in. If you would care to be a co-author of either, or both, and manage the publication with out any cost to me I shall be glad to send them to you for consideration. One is written with a rural life slant, Cappy, the Canary, the story of a pet pig, a canary, and a little old lady on a farm-grade 1-2-3 level - picture book style. The other, Run-away Rabbit, also has a rural slant.
