Thank you my Dear Son for your letter of 13 - 15 Nov. it afforded me considerable comfort as it induced a train of reflections which occationed heartfelt deep gratitude to God for his Goodness to me and real sorrow for my naughtiness and sin. I do not particularly rejoice at your promotion, as I feel apprehensive that you will not be able to sustain such a weight (of glory) or that the arderousness of your labors will be to much for your health in either case it might be matter of regret you know

  However I have been led to see how greatly I have blessed in my children in very many respects. I have very seldom when praying for my children asked for temporal blessing - yet none of them can be call'd destitute of these - and what great reason I have to bless God that they are in so good a degree rich towards Him may the Holy Spirit make them all abundantly more so
 I had along after I return'd from Mo. conjur'd up a great many little vexations & unhappiness (foolish & perverse was I)
  I felt sad & lonesome Lucy was not here Ann was going away off which was really trying - & then the little close bedroom & Smoky stove bad wood Alme so negligent & children so ragged and Albina seem'd coarse & disagreeable in voice & manner but I have got the better of it tis all pass'd away I am quite comfortable & happy. A. & her children are now all fix'd up nicely for winter She has a great many helps (present) from her neighbors her toungue is a fine instrument in her favor She has faults tho' not very great ones, after all and she really
