perienced some delay in getting their water connections.

Believe I have not mentioned the cherries, which you asked about some months ago. The crop was very scanty, had enough for several pies and sold one quart

for 50 c to a neighbor the folks living in Grandma Schoenfelds old house. The birds were thick in the trees all of the time and got whatever we may have overlooked. I think the worms must be scarce this year on account of the dry weather and the blue jays have been committing all sorts of atrocities - eating baby sparrows alive - etc. Saw one in the ash tree doing so, and have heard others.

Mosquitos so thick have invested in mosquito tents for all our beds. No trouble now, as the tents are very finely woven and big enough to hand to the floor on all sides.

The Kopps are thinking of getting some. Must be all the mosquitos here have gone over there to escape starvation.

Glad Nina is happily married. What is Martha doing these days? Das Spears and family are in town, thinking of building here. Das sends love.
Hope have sent the right Whitman book. If you want the other, let me know. Much love, Katharine.

on side: Sent your watch to Frank sometime ago to be fixed. Have not heard from him. Had it insured, so presume he rec'd it.
