D the locality for the works had been badly chosen, so that during a rise in the river not many weeks since, the waters broke in upon the establishment & I now saw it in a ruinous condition carrying away a Back mill, & Tarpits. It is very questionable if this spot be adapted to this operation. In the first place ?at? can be said as to the salubrity of it & secondly there is not a sufficient supply of cattle & hogs so as to make it profitable.
