underneath it a sh?ts with "Ano D 1758" The images of Saints that occupied the four Arches are non-inventus. From the top of what is left of the church there is a fine & extensive view.
 The Alamo Church, the Presidio, Barracks or Military post was built by the Indians.  On leaving the Alamo we strolled towards the "Alameda" a public walk, & in the ruins of a house & in a garden, now choked up with weeds & full of ma?kes? thereabout found the statue of San Antonio decapitated, that of San Fernando sans nose, an eye pocked out & otherwise injured. The ?ublation & destruction of the Alamo & all connected with it may be attributed priverbally to the Mexican General Filasota, when he retreated from San Antonio after the battle of San Jacinto.
