I'll want a reference than SP strike story out of Pedro in late 1911 or early 1912.

But most important, have you ever seen the cards on which the song was first printed? Neuhaus never had one. I've never seen one reproduced. I assume the back of the card would have had a message such as "support the strike and possibly a date. Or even a story in the Ind. Worker in late 1911 -- early 1912 that might have said, buy SP song cards. I have the I.W. on microfilm and when I get a chance I'll read these key issues cover to cover. But let me know where to get the original Casey Jones song card.

There is a final question. Most early "biography" on Hill came from Chaplin. He wrote an early story for the Industrial Pioneer addition in margin reads: Ind. Pioneer Nov 1923 which he later rewrote for the New Masses. Do you have the dates of either of these stories? I want to read them and compare to his Wobbly account in 1998.

Do you have any memory of anyone writing a "true" history of Hills' Casey Jones? It is devastating to do research and find that it's been done before.
