We saw several other abandoned farms, or groves in that section too. A big rain came up and we rushed to the home of some of the party. Mr ad Mrs. Davis, who are struggling to make a living keeping bees. They have tried cattle chickens, trucking, by turns and now have bees. Mrs. Davis used to be a crack stenographer in N.Y.C. later in the create mills here. Kas lost her thumb by infection, and is now too old to get another position. And she is worn out by hard work on the farm. It is quite pathetic. She is a fine, earnest, honest woman, a Catholic, and I like her very much. Guess I've mentioned her before. Her husband is also hard-working, been a soldier in the Philippines
