  Perhaps you thought that I never was going to answer your letter. But I did for I commenced to write to you a few days after yours came, and then it was mislaid. About a week after I was looking over my papers and I saw it as I took it to finish it but it was lain aside again and after that I was ashamed to send it. I have said ever as many times "why Mary we must write to Sarah Everett" but it was not done and that is the only excuse that I have. Miss Rogers is here now spending a day or so. But how are you getting along now? As well as ever? I hope you are. Do you believe I never knew that Martha was going to your

child as it unclear became one very soon if she had unclear unclear unclear unclear unclear Mother was sent for but she was not needed at that time. I have not heard any thing from her to day. Perhaps it be all over before this time. I met Mrs Baker two or three weeks ago in the street and I knew in a moment.
