New York June 17.1815 Dear Sister Jennie, It is nearly dark but I thought I would commence a letter to you even if I am not able to finish it until tomorrow. We have a girl now, as I believe I told you, so I have more time to write than I did, though somehow I do not get at it very often. I had that P.O. order cashed today. I hope we shall be able to return your kindness sometime We do not spend much excepting for car fare &c but that takes a good deal as you know.
