Saw many old friends Mr. & Mrs. Ames, Mary Ann? & husband and George, Mrs. Mitchel & family, cousin Marcia, and I know not how many others. We got a seat pretty far forward so that I could hear some, but the wind made constant music with the leaves and just after the text was announced, from way up amid the tree tops a little dead branch came swiftly down lighting on the forehead of an old lady who sat a little front of us - it made quite a sensation but did not drive her from her seat - she evidently believed "that lightning never strikes twice
