Home, Jan. 18 1868 My dear Sisters,

Altho' we have been very busy today and it is now almost dark, I will try to write a few lines to you before Tommie starts to the village that you may know how nicely we passed through the donation fun. We never had so much kindness shown to us by our own friends in every way so many came and helped us before and after and that evening. I think I told you in my last who were here helping the day before that day Libbie Pugh & Sarah Thomas, Lewis & Jane, were here all day and in the afternoon Jane Ann, Caroline, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas

in margin: Jane Hughes and sister Jane have • come and I must go and speak to them. By the way have you been to see Rev. W. James yet I read a letter from him in which he says they have called on you and were expecting a visit from you in a few days. I wish I could go with you there give much love from all of us to them when you write • was here last night looking remarkable well. Ask Thomas if he could write to me again even if • dont owe • a little I'll try to pay my debt soon anyway.
