over to Elizabeth's in the evening. Found them all quite well. Joh Henry has grown very much since I had seen him last. They talk of visiting mother and Sarah next saturday week. Ma wrote to them monday. We have been quite busy this morning papering the reception room have not got it half finished yet. Father has just got here and nothing will do but I must go with him to Clinton this evening. I did not feel that I could go as we were thinking of doing a great deal this evening, but he said I had better go even if I must stay till monday. I shall therfore go and you will see one when I can go home I dont know when that will be. I am in a fine place here it is a carpener's shop mason's shop and painter's and we are trying to paper it, I think you can imagine what it looks like, our office is nothing to be compared to it. Her is such confusion here that my thoughts are st like everything else and I don't know where to find to write. Robert got a letter from John this morning his health, he thinks, is improving but his spirits seem quite low. He had not received my letter and did not konw how well we were doing in the office. I wish you could write to him, he would prize a joint letter from you very much. If you can not think of any thing to write just sit down and think what you would say if you saw him, write it no matter how simple it is.
