this to the P.O. unless it freezes tonight- so that I can go in my snow shoes in the morning - I had two pleasant snow shoe walks last week. Thursday I went to call on the widow G? girls and they sent A. a little roll of fresh butter- a lb. or so. They also sent her some milk- I had a ride home- I rode with their hired man down to the village - and from there to David Price's corner with G. Griffith's hired man- Called to see Mrs. Price and then came from there on my snow shoes 'cross home- Mrs. P. is beginning to walk - walked across the room by pushing a chair before her. As I was going to the village I kept pretty far south and came to the brow of such a steep hill that I had to take off my long shoes and walk down carrying them in my arms - fortunately there was a little crust in some place. Friday
