Wednesday Aug 25, 75 Camp 29 Three months today since we left Fort Laramie - Broke camp 7 am. Followed down the creek for about 2 miles then across a high open prairie. Soon the ravines began to encroach on us, & we were forced to cross some quite deep ones. Two or three had water. The whole country is of the Red bed & gypsum
