Sunday 7 Went down to the river or rather to two unclear. Could see reds in the fortifications on the other side unclear after dark and came on the double? quick to camp unclear about 8 P.M. pretty? well tired out

Monday 8 Feel pretty tired after my march. They told us that Gen. Butler was advancing up the Derineula? & our move was made to keep Lee's forces on the Rapidan.
