...To day in Custon Opt went on duty at 7PM and unclear until 7AM the next morning and everything was very quiet during his watch.

Friday Apr 20th 1888 Opt "W.H?.D" Report To day in Griston? Opt. arrived this morning and walked all throughe the yards. Opt says that the striker Hall a switchmen. that assaulted the (2) two men a week avows arrested in Burlington last Thursday night by detective Harrison the CB and unclearand held on the charge of assault and attempt murder. Opt. says this man Hall was the leader in all the fights that took place there. He also informs use that during the day up to 10.15 PM nothing unusual happened.

Friday Apr 20th /88 Opt "J.H.F" Report To day in Burlington Opt. from 6.30AM until 12M. Visited the guards and found them throughout the yards. And found them attending to their duty and after dinner or continued untill 6PM he remained with the night guards until 12 o'clock midnight. Opt. says the arrest of Hall the striker switchman at that place dumfounded the strikers there. Everything passed of quietly during the day.
