Chicago July 26th 1888 H.B. unclear. Dear Sir, Following find report of Opr. D.D.b. dated at Chicago Tuesday July 24th 1888. Opr. reports that at 8 o clock he left the Agency and went to the Halsted St yards of the Milwaukee and St Paul saw saw Engineer brighton and Dehader and their Firemen and Switchmen unclear Johnson Judd Moffett and Lockhart Opr stayed around with me and another most the fornoon. Op object was to learn if possible what the feeling was in regard to this contemplated Boycott at St Joe today. Opr says these men for 1 lot at least are satisfied to let the q. men fight their own Battles. They as Individuals do not want to mix up in the affair but say if the worst comes and they are ordered out they will be obliged to go and do as the others do. Walker says the most of the men feel much the same. They all think it foolish to continue farther but still they think it a disgrace to be disloyal to the cause. Opr then went to the unclear of Canal and Adams St where by appointment he met Jack Keefe a striker who is going to Cincinnati Ohio. They together then went from there to the Illinois Central Dept.
