Dear Sir

We are always pleased to write to those who are Friends to the Cherokees and to the four people who cannot read and write. We ought to be thankful to God that he has brought us to school to write and read gods holy bible and other good books that will make us wise unto Salvation I some times think when I see the Missionaries labour so hard for the Cherokees that they did not use to labour so hard in their own country as they do in this Nation but I then think they are willing to do it because god has told them not to be weary in this labour in doing good I have been reading about the Sandwich Islands how grateful they were for the missionaries when came out to teach them We know that some of the Cherokees are not so grateful as they ought to be I am glad to read about the heathen who are thankful for missionaries and when they got learning themselves how they went to teach others so that all the Nations might have learning I have been thinking how I can get some money for our Society Missionaries Ames made me present of sixpence because I was faithful in to my work. It is all the money I ever had and I think I will put that with out Society and if I get any more I think I wiall send it to the Board. L. S. Campbell
