each a set of furs we bought Nettie's for Hattie I do not care very much about having any should get along very well without but the doctor has made up his mind that he wishes to buy me some furs, so I make no objection. The price will probably be somewhere between 30 & 50 dolls. I have one winter dress to make a piece of which I will send, Nettie has one like it has hers already made; I bought them in Detroit. We have made a change of help lately were alone a few days. Our little Katy showed herself rather self-willed & important did not get up in the morning & could not tend the furnace, yet she wanted full wages 1.25 per week, so we found another girl & I told her she was not well enough & strong enough do do our work. the fall cleaning & the additional work made by sickness. Katy felt mortified & troubled at being dismissed but could not complain; we like the exchange; an Irish girl speaking good English intelligent, & well trained. she has been in this country but three years & has lived that time in a wealthy French family in Philadelphia. Knows how to do; she had been here but three weeks when she was taken with ague & has gone to her brother's for a week or two & meanwhile Katy ( who had not found a place) was glad to come back & stay till our girl Marg is well enough to return. Nettie has two sister Irish the younger [unclear] takes care of Charly who lover her dearly. Nettie's health is better than a while ago. Isaac is very well, driving about has been at work quarrying stone by the river bank for his walks
