was quite hopeful while there with her almost strangely so perhaps but the doctor thought there might not be a diseased state of the lungs but only a high degree of irritation in that case there would be, comparatively, but little danger to be apprehended every since we left Bangor however, I have had anxious fears & a constant leaden weight upon my heart. In a letter from Nettie a few days ago she mentioned receiving a note from Lucy & we hoped she was a little better Poor Samuel! and Mother too, she has written discouragingly yet she has expressed hope it will be very hard for her but I must hope yet that she will be spared. Do write again as soon as you receive this if but a few words. Much love to Elaib & to all the dear friends at your house you did not mention little [unclear[ ; I hope he is well, his little sweet face comes up before me very vividly. Yours most affectionately Anna
