Cincinnati - a part by the lakes - as the best boat did not sail until this eve, we spent the day in Buffalo, and I suppose might, by starting early, however gone out to Niagara but I decided it was not best: - perhaps when I return you may be in this region and we visit it together. - This eve at 7, 12 of us take passage in 'The Queen City' a fine large boat, which goes from here to Chicago, all around the lakes - a journey rather to be dreaded at this season we shall be out 4 or 5 days: if you have occasion to write down east do'nt mention my going by the lakes as Mother would perhaps worry some and I shall write as soon as I get to Racine - I shall hope to find a letter from you soon after I get there & then I will write the particulars of my instruction: I intend to write about 4 letters every month one to a week and I hope to get regularly all particulars from home and friends. Aff'ly Anne
