To my Dauter Milo Jan. 1st 1851
They talk of sending James with the cows tomorrow all Almeda's folks & all of our own but baby and I are gone to meeting - no preaching to day but Society meeting & Sabbath School. What a faithful efficient body A. is about Sabbath school. without her I really believe we should have none. I call'd up to Mr. Livermore a day or two since. She is trying to fit out two of her boys to S.S. I sold her (& gave some) three prs of pants, those that Eliab bought, two old Vests and old pr boots She seemed very thankful for the opportunity to get them. Mr. L. is at work at Bangor you know, he sent word to her to get cloth at Macombers for her childrens clothes so last Tuesday She She walked clear down there nearly 5 miles & --Macomber would not trust her. She was highly incensed - said they had paid him full 300$ good pay for goods since he has traded there & dont owe him any thing - he is a mean scamp - kicker & three of his children gone along looking quite smart and decent. Mrs. Dennett has help'd them a good deal in the way of old clothes. I want to go to Bangor & would be all ready sometime this week were it not for taking care of my wool & fixing it for Mrs. K. to spin - have already paid her .... old wooden bed quilt etc. and beside I dont know but I had better wait and go to the Co. Conference at Sebec the 17th or 18th of this month tis not often near enough so that we can go. Have you got any hens or any place to keep any I'll tell you all about poor O. Sargent when I come he's gone to housekeeping I believe, where Severance used to live. I havent got any work done since you went away, have been busy doing nothing as usual.
