Aug. 22nd 1842 Dear Brother I have been meditating a letter to you for a long time, and can hardly tell why I have not written except that my mind has been much occupied with my school and other engagements so that I have put it off from day to day, and"procrastination is (truly) the thief of time.' I closed my school last Wednes. and expect to go home next Thurs. (1st Sept -- I concluded to stay this time, until after Commencement as there are going to be several things of interest that week. I had on the whole a very good examination; I think the best I have ever had; have heard considerable commendation of it.l I keep every forenoon for my first class only, consisting of 15, to whom I expect to give certificates into Mr Littlefield; and I wish to get them so well qualified that they will do credit to themselves and their teacher too: this is of course a work of [unclear], but my pride is so used to have them go in, with flying colours, especially, as those who went in before, were poorly qualified, and some blame was cast upon me; in consequence, I think I shall keep this school next winter at least. Mr. Worrester's school has been small this term, only 32 at examination: they appeared well. It is surprising that more do not avail themselves of their advantages here, -- how glad Eliab would be, of the opportunity to attend that school a year or two. What is to be done for Eliab this fall, he must in some way have some schooling, and what are your intentions for yourself, I rather hope that you do not intend to
