82 Lincoln Avenue, Chicago Ill. Thursday. Oct 30th. 1881. My dear Cousins, I was very glad to receive Jennie's letter on Sunday. Mary Anne came to see me and brought it. I am now staying with the young lady whose acquaintance I made on the Olympiad?. I presume I will board here and at Dr. Clarkes' for some time, two or three weeks, alternating at both places, they seem quite pleased to accommodate me. Monroe St. begin quite in the city, is better for sight seeing, & life in general, but the air here is very much better and purer. We are quite near Lincoln Park which runs along the Lake, five minutes walk from here, straight across the park we are on the lake shore, and on a fine day, it is perfectly delightful, such a large expanse of water, it reminds me of the Ocean. Chicago is truly a wonderful city
