I arrived here this morning and found Mrs. Birch in good health though a little sad because I have been away so long but business compelled me to stay in Louisville. Mrs. Holdeman has been suffering with rheumatism and needed the attention of my wife & she is a first rate nurse, the rest of the family are well. I wrote to you a few days after I saw you at Mt.
