Windham 19th, 1779
Dear Sir, I recd' yours of the Sixteenth, have noted the [contenu], the letters, I sent, Soft waning Directly by[ [safehine]have Sent you all the Cloth I had on hand and the woolan Clouths, Except aboute forty prs. [pairs?] Woolan Covoralls [coveralls?] Cutting and Making, I expect more Cloth this weak hope in Sunday to have in Hundred prs Overalls ready, I should have Just a [Sarges] [Quantity] of [Arleily] of Cloathing; but when the Troops which belonged to the {Stobs} pased [passed?] this Town, [ the?] officers and soldiers applied for help, Some of them no Shirts no Shoes or Stockans, the Officers without Breaches [Pants] I Looked into the Orders recd' from M. Habberd to Find toprovidence, and found, the order was not Supplied, Delt out in proportion to Their Wants Took receipts to ouf with Cap. Hubbon which I send by the [Baron] I Expect to have the Cloathing which I [vindferword] to answer for the Town of Windham in the Same manner as if they were in Separate aut, the Invear are in Clafed, of the whoe I send forwart at this time and what way [ ] to the Troop Berling your Friend and [Humble Servant]
Side: I have sent forward 40 pr. stocking by order of the gov. and his Councils of [ ] to Mr. Clark. I have a Number more not [yet] hemd which will send soon [possible]
