Oct 1st Edwin came home sick of Typhoid fever and never left the house again. One week later I rec'd a telegram while in Rochester summoning me at once to his bedside as he was dangerously ill. May came from his school at Clinton Milton from Pithole and those from Syracuse were here. He was delirious most of the time after my return but never did he forget his kindness, politeness and gentle- manly [?] of character [?] in that. Our Heavenly Father to comfort us kindly rallied him from his lethargy and delirium one week before his death long enough to give us evidence of the faithful [?] on to serve the blessed Jesus and it [?] the affliction - yes it takes away the sting of death.
