August, Tuesday, 11. 1863. An order came in the evening for the 11th La Reg. to leave for Transylvania & they left about 11 PM. All quiet during the day and no news. Saw Mr. Buckner in the morning. Bro in law to Frank Blair. Lost $300,000 by the rebellion and not through yet. Called at the Maroney house. Mr. Marroney came in released his stock. Dr. Anderson & family still there. Del - X -

Wednesday, 12. Negroes came to lines & reported that the rebels were in the vicinity of Richmond & threatened an attack Sent out scouts. Saw a few but reports contradictory. Rec'd letter from Sherman. ieut Thomas came up today. Dr. Fitch came last night. No important news from any quarter.

Thursday, 13. Very hot until just at night when there was a change. Everything quiet to day. Fleetwood died to day Had in his possession money belonging to Mr. Walker Lessee of plantation which was delivered to me $3000.00 and a little small money beside Fleetwood had Silver $3570 Green Backs $11.00 Confed $478.00 which was left with the man who was with him
