Brainerd CN June 3 1828 My Dear Eleanor I now take my pen to write to you, when I look back and think of you I sometimes think how many times we have sung "Am I a soldier of the cross" I entered into the first class 18th of March I was still studying Geography. We went to the boys school and they came in ours and Mr Elsworth old me that I better after my voice he said I spoke like a man. Miss Ames told me that if I try to do well I might go into the first class. I began to write 31 of March I suppose you heard in Miss Nancy Reece letter that she told you that I was making pot hooks, just you will see how I get a long in writing. Mrs Blunt has got five girls to work with her, she took the boys clothes to mend and Miss Sergent took Mr. Blunts place to cook in the morning. Betsey and I help her to cook in the morning. Betsey and Nancy take turns to help her to cook.

I do not take turns I am Miss Sergent girl

and like wise Katia?. Mrs. Blunt says perhaps we shall be her girls till examination. Eliza and Lucy McPherson take turns to sew with us I think you like to know my feelings, I will tell you I do not feel so much as I did when you were here, but God is still striving with us to turn to Him and Satan is to trying to get our mind from God I have felt as though I have God but I am afraid I am deceiving myself. Miss Sergents health is not very good, but I hope she is getting better please to give my love to uncle John [cut off] please to excuse my bad writing, please to write to me from your affectionate friend Polly Wilson.
