My dear Miss Everett.

It rained so hard this morning that I saw there was no prospect of getting a letter to you today so I have contrary to my intentions been obliged to make you wait until Monday.

I arrived in Retien safely with my bundels and Mr. Howell kindly helped me to Mrs. Thompsons. Found them well and looking for me but would not have been dis- appointed had I been a day later.
