1866. Monday, February 19. Moderately pleasant day. Spent the day in the office reading & looking up the slander case brought before a Justice of the Peace at Colbitz for M M Gorden, a young man who wishes to establish a pure character among the girls that he may marry. At night called to see Mrs. Chilcote but she was at church—then next to Dr. Parkers & spent the evening (musically).
