I have never worked before in the business world, but I find it delightful & interesting. I have made many lovely friends & talk to about a hundred people daily & I love people. So, I enjoy my work immensely. We have two maids & a gardner who do the hard work - so my Paul & I take it easy & roll in the money. We love San Jose, it is a beautiful city - 140,000 population - fine stores & Theatres & the nicest most friendly people I've met since I left North Carolina. Every one here is grand to us. I've had a great deal published this year & have nearly finished a book I've been writing for four years. I hope it will be a best Seller. I have done a great deal of oil painting this year also - I enjoy it very much, it is my hobby. I sold a painting Xmas for $575.00, the most I ever got for one. I still remember how lovely all the people at the Manx Hotel were to me & I shall never forget their many kind words & deeds - during my five years there. My son Peter Watson, Manager of Mr. [Joy's} Hotel in Monterey has a lovely wife & a darling little son (Jimmy). words obscured in paper fold months old - & is the pride & joy of my heart. Mr. [Joy] looks about ten years younger & happy & well - he has a very attractive & pretty wife!
