Ft. Sill I.T. March 6, 1875 Dear General, I wrote you yesterday that I would stand this morning for Ft. Concho, and was all packed up and had my wagons loaded ready to start out early this morning, when the mail came in and brought the unclear closed order publishing this destination of our companies and directing when and how the unclear should be made. A telegram also came to send to the railroad after 100 recruits for the 4th cavalry, so my order was counterminded? after dark and I have to unload my wagons this morning and unpack. Davidson unclear an order several days ago relinquishing command of the required and last night issues another reordering it.
