1866. Sunday, February 10. Clear but cold day Did not go to church but spent the greater part of the day in copying the account of Patterson & Scofield from the books of Patterson Sherman. - Find a balance in my favor of about $800.00 for which I am very thankful. Took a good bath & changed my clothes. At night went to the Methodist church with William. Have just returned & am sitting in the office at one end of the long table while Sherman is writing a letter & Wm is working A negro preacher from Oskalousa Oskaloosa took up a collection today for a church for the colored people there
