It appreared, from the conduct of the Savages, in taking this Chief thro the brethrens Settlement, and burning him so near their Village, that this plan had been devised, for the purpose of drawing the attention of the Missionaries and their Indians, to the Act they were committing here while, forgetting Joshua for the moment, he at the same time, would be executed, at the place they had come from, so that they, would be too late, if they afterwards came to look for him.
